Kick Back
Kick back and enjoy a moment of hearing what God has been doing with your mission dollars and prayers! Over this past month we have seen people saved, baptized and real progress in the lives of new believers. We also want to tell you of a goal that has been met in our language studies. We will try to make this short but full of praise for all the wonderful things God has accomplished.
More Victories
First, let me start by telling you of a couple of new believers that have been added to God’s family. Thembile received Christ last month and followed the Lord in baptism just a few weeks later. It was a real joy to see him trust Christ as he is the first person that I have led to Christ through using the Xhosa language. I had Lubabalo with me to help correct and clarify if things were not going smoothly. It was a real encouraging experience and Thembile is now growing in the Lord as we meet each week. I ask you to pray for me that I would be fluent in the language soon because Thembile and others like him struggle to pay attention in church because they do not understand English very well.
Another victory was that Paul’s mother received Christ just this past week along with his sister. Again I was able to use my Xhosa along with some English to help lead this dear family to Christ. They have been on Paul’s (one of the young men that has been around for a while) heart for quit some time. Paul’s mother followed in baptism on Sunday night and I have to say that it was my smoothest baptism thus far. I did not hit her head or have her feet fly up in the air as she went under. His sister is with child and is due anytime so I believe it may be a while before she takes that step of obedience. Please pray for their situation as they live a good distance from the church and do not have one close by to go to. There are only so many people I can take with me and the original few have the priority right now. I am possibly going to just meet in their house once a week to do a Bible study.
Diligent Students
Just to give you a glimpse of what is going on in the lives of the other young men I must tell you that they are really moving right along in their faith. Paul and Sipho are at the top of their class in the Bible institute. I realize that that is just a very small portion of the training that they need but it is a good sign that they have the desire and determination to do so well in their class. Lubabalo just finished his high school graduation exams so he is going to be much more involved now. I have just printed up 5,000 gospel tracts in Xhosa that we will be distributing very soon. On top of that I have finished a discipleship booklet in Xhosa that we are already using for our Bible study. |
